For clinicians

Plumb for clinicians

A wearable knee pillow built for the patients your loose-pillow recommendations don't quite reach.

You already recommend between-the-knees support for side-sleeping patients. The Contour Legacy and Cushy Form pillows you've been sending people to Amazon for solve the alignment problem only when they stay put — which a lot of patients tell you they don't. We're building Plumb to solve the staying-put problem, and we're inviting a small group of chiropractors, PTs, and related clinicians to evaluate it ahead of launch.

What Plumb is

A soft knit thigh sleeve (viscose made from bamboo), about 5 inches tall, worn on the upper thigh of one leg. A contoured hourglass cushion is held in a removable washable cover that attaches to the sleeve. Two sleeve sizes — Regular (up to 28 in. upper-thigh circumference) and XL (28–32 in.). Two cushion thicknesses — 5-inch baseline (default for most adults) and 6-inch (larger frames or firmer mattresses). We fit the patient rather than asking them to fit the product.

Plumb is a comfort and sleep-positioning product. It is not a medical device, is not intended to diagnose, treat, mitigate, or cure any condition, and we do not make therapeutic claims about it in any of our marketing or in this clinician-facing material. That posture is deliberate — we want it to be something you can comfortably recommend without inheriting claim exposure.

Why we're building it the way we are

Wide soft sleeve, not a strap.

Pressure is distributed across 3+ inches of upper thigh rather than concentrated in a narrow strap. Aimed at all-night tolerance, not stay-put-while-walking.

Cushion on the outside, not inside.

The cushion mounts to the sleeve's exterior so it isn't pressed against the worn leg's skin. Heat at the inner-thigh contact zone is meaningfully different from a padded knee sleeve.

Silicone dot grippers, dual zones.

Top and bottom of the sleeve's interior. Designed to resist both vertical slide (the loose-pillow failure) and rotation (the strap-attached failure).

Hourglass cushion, two thicknesses.

The shape your patients already recognize from the category — refined to seat in the inter-thigh gap and pair with the sleeve. 5-inch baseline for most adults, 6-inch for larger frames or firmer mattresses.

Where we are in validation

Stage 1 wear test is underway. Four to five testers, 30 nights each, with time-lapse video to settle the rotation question. Kill criteria are explicit and published: if testers don't reach for it voluntarily at night 14, the product is killed or redesigned — not shipped.

We will publish the results — including the failure modes — on plumbsleep.com when Stage 1 closes. If you'd like the results delivered directly to your inbox, fill out the form below and check the box for the test summary.
